One of the big trends on Instagram involves organizing two or more photos into an Instagram collage so that you can show off multiple scenes in one photo.

Even though Instagram now has an option to include up to 10 separate photos in one post, sometimes a collage is still a nice way to show off several photos all together.

Instagram doesn’t currently have a feature that lets you create collages directly within the app, but there are tons of third-party photo editing apps out there that you can use (plus one of Instagram’s very own apps, which you’ll discover below). Most of them conveniently let you share your collage photo directly to Instagram.

Here are just seven awesome apps you can use to start easily creating photo collages to be shared on Instagram.

Instagram’s Collage App: Layout

Instagram itself caught on to the massive collage trend and released its very own collage app (separate from the official Instagram app).

  • Completely free.

  • Simple to understand.

  • Ad-free.

  • Limited layouts.

Layout is perhaps one of the most beautiful and intuitive apps out there — with automatic previews and 10 different layout styles you can use for up to nine photos. Unlike a few of the collage apps that make you pay a premium price to unlock more collage options, Layout is totally free.

Download for iOS

You can easily access Layout when you’re in Instagram getting ready to post a photo. When you pull up the photo in Instagram, look for the collage icon in the lower right corner of the photo. Tap it and you’ll be redirected to the Layout app where you can create your collage.

The Moldiv app is an all-in-one solution for selfies, editing, videos and magazine-style collages. Besides having access to a video camera pro photo editor and other incredible features, its collage feature has some really funky designs that some of the other apps don’t quite offer — and you even get access to a range of beauty tools to smooth out your skin, slim your face down and more.

  • Stylish frames.

  • Professional-grade editing.

  • Nags you to upgrade.

  • Intrusive ads.

  • Not as user friendly as similar apps.

You get about 310 different basic frames plus 135 magazine-style layouts to choose from. You also have the freedom to customize aspect ratios and the ability to choose from magazine-style presets for incredibly stylish photo editing. Share to Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Flickr, Line and others.

Collect and Save Tons of Grids: PhotoGrid

As a long-time top photography in both major app stores, the Photo Grid collage maker app is a must-have for anyone who loves to share photos on Instagram and all over social media. You get over 300 grids with the opportunity to support up to 15 photos all at once, over 100 filters, over 200 poster templates and more.
