The Echo Show 5 and Show 8 are getting some notable updates, including a 2-megapixel front camera on the Show 5 and a 13-megapixel camera system with a 110-degree field of view on the Show 8.
The Echo Show 5 also gets a noticeable price drop, to $84.99 from $89.99, and comes in a new color: deep sea blue.
The Echo Show 8 also borrows from the now discontinued Echo Show 10 with a pan and zoom feature you can use while on video calls, so everyone stays centered in the frame. There are even new augmented reality effects in the Echo Show 8 to send animated “reactions” during video calls, or to choose custom virtual backgrounds.
All three new Echo Show devices are available for preorder now for a June shipping date. The Echo Show 5 is $84.99, the Echo Show 5 Kids is $94.99, and the Echo Show 8 is $129.99.
