According to the latest report from Kantar, at the end of February 2013, Google’s Android has taken the lead in the US mobile market with 51% share of the total mobile segment. Apple iOS comes second with 43%. Only last year Apple was at the top with  47% and Android second with 45%. Analysts had predicted that  with growing availability of cheaper and powerful android devices from multiple manufacturers like Samsung, LG, HTC and Motorola , the Android customer base is bound to expand. Talking about other “competitors” , Blackberry and Windows Phones barely occupy over 5% of total mobile segment.
