Google reveals that has figured out what the “N” will actually mean in the next version of its mobile operating system. Android N will be officially known as “Android Nougat.”

The announcement comes out about a month and a half after the company asked users to help to name the most popular mobile operating system.

Every release of Android has a name that follows the last version in alphabetical order, and they named after tasty treats. As you may recall, the last two versions of Android were named Lollipop and Marshmallow.

And as expected, the statue of Nougat is already on the Google’s campus in Mountain View, California (see above).

Android Nougat is due later this summer and currently there is a second preview. The new version of Android brings new features, such as notification shade, split-screen for multitasking, improvements on settings, color theme for the keyboard, and new emoji.

In addition, Google is focusing this release on improve performance by making Android Nougat more energy efficient.

The new version will also bring Daydream, which is Google’s new VR platform, and will come built right into the operating system. However, it’ll only be available for those phones that offer VR capability.
