Baldur’s Gate 3 not only allows you to have human companions but also recruit pets in your gang. Although these pets do not have a huge gameplay impact, they are really cute. One such pet companion that you can get in Baldur’s Gate 3 is the Owlbear Cub. In this guide, we will discuss where to find the Owlbear cub and how to tame it in Baldur’s Gate 3.

How to Tame Owlbear Cub in Baldur’s Gate 3

For taming the Owlbear cub, you will first have to find it. The Owlbear cub’s location is in the Owlbear Cave. You can use fast travel to reach the Owlbear Cave location. In the cave, you will find the mom along with the cub. Now you will have a choice here. You can either get into a fight and kill the mother Owlbear or persuade her and leave the cave. This is one of the many choices that you make in Baldur’s Gate 3.

Regardless of the choice you make, after some rest, you will encounter the cub in Goblin’s camp so that you can tame it in Baldur’s Gate 3. The Goblin camp is a dangerous place with high-level enemies, you might want to read how you can clear the camp in our Goblin camp guide.

In the Goblin camp, some of the goblins will be chasing the Owlbear cub as a part of some game. You need to interact with their leader Krolla who will be handling the game. Krolla will ask you to join the game, to which you have to say no and turn to the Owlbear cub to interact.

You will have to use the “Speak With Animal” potion to talk as only that can help you build trust and tame Owlbear cub in Baldur’s Gate 3. When you interact with the cub and ask him to come with you, he will say no.

Now, you have to again interact with Krolla and choose the option that you want to leave with the cub. You can then use Intimidate, Persuade, or the Illithid mind meld to convince Krolla. Now when you leave with the cub, he will run away but don’t worry. Just go to your camp and rest for a couple of days and the Owlbear cub will spawn there. Alternatively, if you don’t want to lose time, you can choose to progress further in the game and get back to your camp after a few days to find the cub.

That’s how you tame Owlbear cub in Baldur’s Gate 3. Along with the Owlbear, you can also adopt a pup in the game.
