In a new interview from 60 Minutes, Microsoft co-founder, Bill Gates talked specifically about Bill and Melinda Gates foundation and his efforts to use technology to help the world prevent and eradicate diseases. But things got emotional when the inevitable conversation shifted to the long time rival Steve Jobs.

During the interview with Charlie Rose, Bill Gates revealed that they both “practically grew up together” and he also released some emotions when talking about his final meeting with the Apple founder back in 2011, he said that both talked about what they have learned about families.

Gates also accepted that Apple “put the pieces” together when it comes to the tablet market, something where Microsoft has yet to make a dent. Throughout the interview he also noted that he’d like to have had “his sense of design, that everything has to fit a certain aesthetic”.

Although Gates still remains chairman of Microsoft, his answers were more honest and personal, showing a more real side of him, to what you would expect and saw in different interviews.
